Mung bean cake
Ingredients
- peeled mung beans 300g
- Sugar 135g
- Butter 55g
- Honey 60g
- Red bean paste Appropriate amount
Steps
1. Soak peeled mung beans for more than 2 hours. If the beans are steamed or cooked in a rice cooker, soak them for more than 4 hours. Change the water twice in the middle.
2. Soak the mung beans and cook. After cooking, grind the beans into a paste.
3. Move the ground beans to a non-stick pan, add butter, sugar, and honey, and stir-fry over low heat.
4. All materials are integrated.
5. It will become sticky a little bit.
6. After 10 minutes of frying, the bottom is almost no longer sticky.
7. It will be good when it reaches this relatively dry state.
8. Take a little bit and see if it doesn't stick to your hands after it cools down and is dry.
9. The finally fried mung bean cake can be hugged into a ball.
10. Once the mung bean paste is completely cool, you can shape it into a round shape.
11. Put into the mold.
12. Press down.
13. If you want to put fillings, press them flat.
14. Add appropriate amount of red bean paste.
15. Roll the round shape into the mold and repeat steps 11 and 12.
16. Press out the pattern you like.
17. Plate presentation.

Tips
- 1. I use the Adi pot, leave a little water on the mung beans, put all the ingredients in the pot, and press for 30 minutes. You can also use a rice cooker or pressure cooker, or put it in a basin and steam it. The rice cooker will take a little longer if you add more water. The steaming time also needs to be longer.
- 2. After cooking, the beans are in a very rotten state. If they are hard, add more water and cook them for a while.
- 3. Peeled mung beans are sold online. If you can’t buy them, just leave them with the skins on. Peel them after soaking, which is a bit cruel.
- 4. If honey is not available, replace it with syrup or half the amount of white sugar.
