Red dates and cornmeal steamed buns
Cornmeal 190g | flour 60 grams |
White sugar 20 grams | Red dates 50g (chopped) |
Baking soda powder 4 grams | Warm water 140g |
Step 1
Put cornmeal, white flour and chopped red dates in a basin.Step 2
Stir the sugar and baking soda with 140 grams of warm water to dissolve.Step 3
Pour into the basin of corn flour, white flour and red dates.Step 4
Knead into dough, cover with plastic wrap and rest for 20 minutes.Step 5
Pour into the loose dough, about 50 grams each, and ball it together in your hands. Use your thumb to poke a hole at the bottom to form a hollow steamed bun shape. Put it all into the pot and steam over high heat for 20 minutes.Step 6
