Baby milk-flavored steamed buns are loved by both adults and children
Ingredients
- Flour 120g
- Yeast powder 2 grams
- White sugar 5 grams
- Milk powder 8g
- Warm water Appropriate amount
Steps
1. Prepare the ingredients. The amount of water can be adjusted flexibly according to the flour
2. Add yeast powder to warm water (not exceeding 35 degrees)
3. Add white sugar, which can provide nutrients to the yeast and help fermentation. Babies will also like to eat steamed buns with a little sweetness.
4. Let the yeast fully melt.
5. Mix the flour and milk powder, and slowly pour in the yeast water (digging a small hole in the middle, pour a small amount first)
6. Start kneading the dough. It will be a little sticky at first. Knead until the surface is smooth and not sticky.
7. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest for about half an hour.
8. The relaxed dough will feel softer. Continue to knead the dough thoroughly until it is smooth and has no air bubbles.
9. Use a rolling pin to roll it into an oval piece (about 5mm), and check if there are any bubbles on the surface. If there are bubbles, it means that the kneading is not sufficient and the air is not completely exhausted. If the surface is flat and smooth, it means the kneading is done.
10. Start rolling in one direction, don't press too hard.
11. Cut into small pieces and shape slightly with your hands.
12. Put it into the pot, heat the cold water for about half a minute, turn off the heat, cover it, and let the steamed buns ferment for about 20 minutes.
13. Steam over high heat for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Do not open the lid immediately to avoid shrinkage. The inside is very fluffy, like a small cake, which is very suitable for babies to eat.
Tips
- The water temperature should not exceed 35 degrees, as high temperatures will kill the yeast.
- Many mothers told me that they failed, but later found out that the yeast had lost its activity. Every time you use the yeast powder, you must seal it and store it.
- Put the steamed buns into the pot with cold water. If they are fully heated, the inside will be softer.
- Do not open the lid to observe during the process, and wait 5 minutes after turning off the heat before opening the lid again, otherwise the surface will be pitted and severely retracted.
- During fermentation, cover it with plastic wrap, or put it in the pot and cover it. Do not expose it to the air for fermentation, as the surface will harden easily. .
