British Dessert Welsh Scones
Ice butter 35 grams | All-purpose flour 70 grams |
Love Sweet Zero Calories 15 grams | High temperature resistant chocolate beans 15 grams |
Salt 0.3 grams | Baking powder 1.6 grams |
Whole egg liquid 16 grams |
Step 1
Add zero-calorie sugar and salt to the all-purpose flour and stir evenly; cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the flour (the butter does not need to be thawed, just cut into pieces and used directly)Step 2
Use your fingertips to rub the iced butter into sand, add the baking powder and mix well.Step 3
Add chocolate beans and mix well (traditional Welsh scones add dried fruit, but I wanted to use up the chocolate beans at home so I didn’t use dried fruit)Step 4
Add the whole egg liquid, mix and press into a ball; place the dough on the chopping board, spread oil paper on the dough, use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a dough with a thickness of about 0.7 cm, and then use a round mold (or cup mouth) with a diameter of 7 cm Press out round dough.Step 5
After heating the non-stick pan, add the dough and bake on each side for about 4-5 minutes over medium-low heat, until both sides are golden brown, then take it out (medium-low heat means there should be fire in the inner and outer rings of the gas stove, and there should be fire in both rings. Keep the heat on low to medium, avoid high heat to avoid burning. The chocolate beans also need to be resistant to high temperatures. The ones I used are not resistant to high temperatures, so they were a little burnt.)Step 6
Welsh scones can be eaten cold or warm, cut crosswise and spread with jam or cream to enjoy! British dessert Welsh scones cooking tips1. Use any dried fruit you like, but if the dried fruit is larger, you need to cut it into small pieces first.
2. If you like, you can add cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder or mixed spice powder in step 1 to taste!
